FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When is the space available?

We have limited availability - but the best way to find out if your date is available is to email us and plan ahead! We book well in advance in most cases.

How can I make sure my preferred date doesn't get booked?

The only way to avoid getting your date booked is by booking it first. We don't hold dates without a signed contract.

Where can my guests park?

We provide two parking spaces in our adjacent parking lot that are exclusively for clients of the Ruins. There is two-hour free street parking around the building as well. We are happy to make recommendations on shuttles or buses. There are also lots of hotels within walking distance to the venue - including the Ruins' sister properties at which we're happy to give group discounts!

Is there a kitchen? Or space for caterers?

Keep in mind, our historic venue was once a grand hotel lobby so there is limited "unseen" space. We do not have a kitchen in the space, but we do have lots of excellent restaurants and caterers within walking distance that can prepare dishes and transport them. We highly encourage our clients to talk with prospective restaurants and caterers about reasonable options for their event - and it's even better if they can check out the space for themselves. Thinking outside the box can be helpful, too. For instance, clients can apply to get a food cart parked right outside!

Do you have preferred vendors?

We offer our clients an extensive list of vendors, but we do not require that they be used. We are also happy to make professional recommendations.

Can we have a bar?

Absolutely, but you will need to talk to your event insurer about covering alcohol and don't forget to reach out to OLCC to clarify any rules or regulations.

Would it be less expensive to book for the Winter? Fall?

Our rates are standard. They don't fluctuate based on "popular" seasons. We maintain our rates at a fraction of the cost of similar venues, but when it comes right down to it - there's really no venue quite like the Ruins.
